How It Works
1. Configure the Item
Set up the required primary and alternate units for the stock item.
2. Create the Voucher
Enter the Sales or Purchase voucher and select the required item.
3. Select the Alternate Unit
Change the alternate unit directly during voucher entry according to the transaction requirement.
4. Enter Quantity
Enter the quantity using the selected unit.
5. Calculate the Rate
The TDL calculates the applicable rate based on the selected alternate unit and configured conversion relationship.
6. Complete the Transaction
Review the calculated values and continue with the normal voucher-posting process.
Example
Suppose an item has a conversion relationship between its primary and alternate units.
If the item is normally maintained in Pieces but the transaction needs to be entered in Boxes, the user can select the alternate unit during entry.
The applicable rate can then be calculated according to the configured conversion between Box and Piece, reducing the need for manual calculations.
